Mohali International Airport to be named after Shaheed Bhagat Singh

Chandigarh: The center government reported to have cleared the name of Mohali International Airport and named it after Shaheed Bhagat Singh. The airport would now be known as Shaheed Bhagat Singh International Airport Mohali.
Punjab Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal had requested the Prime Minister Narender Modi to name the airport in the name of Shaheed Bhagat Singh. Modi reportedly accepted te request and Civil Aviation Minsitry would soon issue a notification in this regard. Modi is coming to inagurate the International airport at Mohali on September 11. However the airport would start functioning only by the end of October 2015. The domestic airport in the defence area would also be shifted to Mohali airport, sources said.  Initially, the Jet airways would operate Chandigarh-Dubai direct flight and other airlines would also operate international flights from Mohali.
