Three men held at IGI for smuggling gold worth 2.5cr

 In what could be one of the biggest seizures by the customs staff at the Indira Gandhi International Airport, three peeople were arrested for allegedly trying to smuggle in about 10 kilograms of illegal gold, worth Rs 2.5 crore, on Sunday.

The arrested men included a lawyer, a chartered accountant and a foreigner.

In the first incident, customs officials recovered over four kilograms of gold from a dustbin kept in the toilet of a Qatar airways aircraft, after its landing.
In another case, two men from Delhi - one identified as a lawyer while the other a chartered accountant, were caught carrying 740 grams and 2.635 kilograms of illegal gold, respectively.
