Protest against 'harassment' of passengers from Kasaragod

Mangaluru: Kerala Muslim Youth League (MYL) activists on Wednesday staged protest here over alleged harassment of passengers coming from Kasaragod district by officials of Mangaluru International Airport.
MYL Manjeshwar unit president A K M Ashraf, who addressed the protesters near the airport premises, demanded that officials taking a 'discriminatory' attitude towards passengers from Kasaragod be immediately replaced.
It had become common for expatriates belonging to Kasaragod to bear "ill-treatment and humiliation" from airport officials, he alleged.
Poor passengers from the region were being detained for hours in the name of interrogation, he alleged.
Manjeshwar MLA P B Abdul Razak said he had also noticed such behaviour from officials while travelling from the airport.
