Now, flight connectivity to Sharjah from Odisha capital!

Bhubaneswar: Good news for frequent flyers as the Biju Patnaik International Airport (BPIA) in Odisha capital is going to get air connectivity to one more foreign destination soon. This comes days after national carrier Air India launched its direct flight to Bangkok.

Budget passenger carrier IndiGo today announced direct flight services to Sharjah from two cities in India from later this month and 11 other cities, including Bhubaneswar, shortly.

As per the carrier, it will launch new flight services on the Lucknow-Sharjah-Lucknow and Hyderabad-Sharjah-Hyderabad sectors from December 29 this year. Besides, flights to Kolkata, Kochi, Goa, Tirupati, Rajahmundry, Patna, Mangalore, Visakhapatnam, Chennai, Raipur and Bhubaneswar will also be run, however through connecting flights.

While schedule of the Hyderabad and Lucknow flights have been announced, the same has not been announced for Bhubaneswar and other cities.

The Hyderabad flight (6E1405) will depart at 2.10 and Lucknow flight (6E1407) will fly at 16.15 on all days.

“Expanding operations to Sharjah on the 6E network is in response to the growing demand on the sector. These new flights will also open up immense connectivity to and from other cities on our network, supported by 147 Airbus-320 strong fleet,” said Sanjay Kumar, Chief Commercial Officer of IndiGo.
