Lucknow: Customs officials at Chaudhary Charan Singh International airport seized gold from a passenger coming from Bangkok on Friday and detained him for smuggling gold. The accused has been identified as Rajesh Prakash Baharani, a resident of Ulhasnagar, Thane.
Around 593 grams gold was recovered from the briefcase of Rajesh Prakash who had arrived from Bangkok (flight WE 333). Custom officials found the gold in the beading of the briefcase.
Customs commissioner Shiv Kumar Sharma said that the accused has been detained and enquiry is under way for further proceeding.
