Bhubaneswar: A woman hailing from Kolkata brought rape charges against her former employer and Air Odisha chief, Santosh Pani today.
In a complaint filed at Khandigiri Police Station, the woman alleged that Santosh Pani raped her twice. “I joined Santosh Pani’s company in July 2018 as security supervisor. Pani had forcefully offered me a ride to my home and even harassed me in the car. Later, he forcibly entered my rented accommodation and raped me,” said the complainant who is currently engaged with Air Deccan.
Countering the allegations, Pani said, “The woman had an argument with the staff after which she filed a complaint against them. Later, the office staff followed suit and filed a counter complaint against her. Investigations revealed that her claims were false. It was then that she threatened legal action against us in an email. Later, she resigned and quit the company. Her salary has been released recently. This is a pre-planned false case filed against me.”
