In a first, Air Asia India registers aircraft with Srinagar codename

Srinagar: AirAsia India has become the first-ever airline to dedicate an aircraft Airbus A320 to summer capital Srinagar by registering it as “VT-SXR”.
SXR is the station code for Srinagar city in the aviation industry and AirAsia India, which operates to this region, has registered the aircraft with this code with the aviation regulator director general of civil aviation (DGCA). The code is visibly etched on the body of the aircraft.
A spokesperson of the airline said the registration of the aircraft with Srinagar’s name is a “tribute and an ode to the paradise city”, thus becoming first commercial aircraft in Kashmir Valley to be registered in the name of Srinagar.
“The aircraft will operate not just to and from Srinagar, but to all 21 domestic destinations that AirAsia India currently flies to and from its hubs in Bengaluru, Kolkata and New Delhi,” the spokesperson said.
