Mohali: A team of Zirakpur municipal council on Friday identified as many as 200 residential and commercial establishments that fall within 100-metre radius from the boundary wall of the Air Force station in Zirakpur. The municipal council pasted legal notices on the buildings, directing them to demolish the structures within six hours.
The team of Zirakpur MC was led by executive officer Manvir Singh Gill and sub-divisional officer (SDO) Sukhvinder Singh.
“We have identified 200 buildings. We have pasted notices that direct them to demolish their structures and notify the same to the MC within 6 hours. These were the final notices. The MC will be forced to carry out a demolition drive after this,” Gill said.
The Punjab and Haryana high court has asked the council to file a reply by October 16 on the action it had taken against illegal buildings constructed within 100-meter radius of the Air Force station.
