5 BJP supporters lose wallets at Ahmedabad airport ahead of Amit Shah's roadshow

Ahmedabad: With most of the cops on bandobust duty, pickpockets had a field day on Friday night as they targeted five persons who had gone to Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel International Airport to welcome BJP president Amit Shah on his arrival in the city for filing nomination papers for the ensuing Lok Sabha polls from the Gandhinagar seat.
According to a complaint lodged by one Devan Yadav (31) of Sabarmati, who works in a private company, he had gone to the airport with other BJP supporters to welcome Shah at the airport.

“He has mentioned in the complaint that while they were waiting at the airport, someone took out his wallet which was in the back pocket of his pants. The FIR mentions that the wallet contained Rs 4,800 and important cards. About then, Lansh Patel (33), a builder and resident of Vatva; Gaurav Patel (36) of Azad Chowk; Sagar Chaudhary (32) of Vastral; and Utpal Patel (45) also realized that their wallets were missing too,” said a senior police official of the Airport police station.
