Guwahati: Indigo will start operating a flight between Kolkata and Umroi Airport, located 30 km from Shillong, the capital of Meghalaya from today, July 20.
A government release stated that the trial run of the Indigo flight from Kolkata will land at Umroi Airport at 4 p.m.
The airport will be under strict security surveillance for the occasion.
It should be noted that there are plans to expand the airport to facilitate the landing of bigger aircrafts.
Indigo also mentioned the news on its Twitter page recently, stating that it would be “introducing a daily, non-stop flight between Shillong and Kolkata.”
