Kondotty MLA meets child stranded in Karipur plane crash after a year

Malappuram: One year has passed since the Air India Express plane crashed at Karipur in Kozhikode. A tragedy that came amid COVID-19 pandemic however showcased the world how locals could rose up to handle a contingent situation. Residents in the Karipur promptly rushed to the spot and was involved in rescue and mitigation measures, despite the fear of deadly COVID-19 virus.

It was during that tragedy, Kondotty MLA T.V. Ibrahim first met Laiba Pathu, a kid stranded in one of the hospitals in which the air crash victims were taken in to. The MLA took to social media and gave detailed description of the girl. In a Facebook live, he detailed about her dress and ornaments she wore for identification.The objective was to find whereabouts of the kid who only knew her name. The attempt did not go in vain. Later, Laiba's family members identified her and reached out to her.

Laiba was accompanied by her mother Saleega Nasreen in the plane.However in the ambiguity after the crash, the rescue personnel took mother and daughter to two different hospitals. That’s how the girl got stranded, following which MLA came across to see her.

Later, when family members arrived after MLA’s Facebook live, Laiba was taken to hospital in which her injured mother was admitted.
