Mumbai: In two separate cases the Air Intelligence Unit (AIU) of Customs on Sunday arrested two passengers from the Mumbai International Airport, who tried to smuggle 1.3 kg cocaine worth around Rs 6 crore, and 2 kg cocaine worth Rs10crore.
In the first case the AIU arrested a foreign national who had arrived from Addis Ababa with a duffle bag hiding 1.3 kg cocaine inside its false cavity. He was produced before the local court that remanded him to magistrate custody. In the second case the AIU arrested a Thane resident Wanseuluas Iyer with 1,859 gm cocaine. Officials said that accused is just a carrier and the main culprits are yet to be arrested.
