Pune: A Pune-Bengaluru IndiGo flight with over 100 passengers on board on Saturday morning returned to the Lohegaon airport about 20 minutes after take-off, following a technical snag.
The aircraft, an Airbus A321, had taken off from Pune at 7.40am instead of its scheduled time of 7.25am. Around 20 minutes later, it turned back.
A source said the aircraft had attained an altitude of around 800 feet after take-off. It circled around the city once before landing back in Pune.
“There was a technical problem in the aircraft and it had to come back. After a delay of around two hours, the same aircraft carried all the passengers to Bengaluru. The flyers were taken care of by the airline,” a source in IndiGo said.
The airline officials didn’t mention anything about the nature of the problem.
